Focus reading Matthew 13:31–33, 44–52

The Kingdom of God is like a mustard seed. It grows into the biggest of plants. Or it’s like a little yeast in some flower making the whole batch rise. God can take the smallest and most insignificant things and cause the most wonderful transformation. Any person, any prayer, any activity, no matter how small can be used by God to do wonderful things.  God can use and include them, & as unlikely as it may seem, can use and include you in transforming our whole community. All we have to do is listen and watch, keep our eyes and hearts open for the treasure that God will plant in our community and us.

For through us God can transform not just our community, but also the whole world!!

Questions for thought or discussion.

Can you think of something big which has grown from a humble beginning? What stories of faith or from the Bible begin with a humble start and end up with something big and/or wonderful? What caused the growth? In what ways could God use you to transform the world?
