Today’s Psalm describes the Law as being sweeter than honey from the comb. That sounds strange but when the Bible talks about the Law it's talking about much more than the Rules that we find in Leviticus and Deuteronomy. The Law the first five books of the Old Testament also include, stories, instruction, and promises. Mostly in the sermon I'll be looking at how the Law contains stories and how we are included in those stories.Today’s Psalm describes the Law as being sweeter than honey from the comb. The Law the first five books of the Old Testament also include, stories, instruction, and promises. Mostly in the sermon I'll be looking at how the Law contains stories and how we are included in those stories. All of us are called to be part of the story which began in the Law. The promise of the Bible is that all of us who are part of Jesus' body have the power and gifts to carry out our bit of the story.
Question for thought or discussion:
How is God calling you to be part of the story?(Are you being called to forgive someone? Are you being called to listen again to the stories, instruction and promises of the Bible like the people in the Story of Nehemiah? Are you being called by Jesus to follow him for the first time or in some new way? Are you being called to some special task, or ministry, as part of the people of God?)
