Focus Reading: 1 Cor 12:31b-14:1a  (1 Cor 13)

I Corinthians is a book of the Bible all about a divided church which does not understand that its unity is not in the gifts or clever and eloquent words or even in self sacrificing service. Their unity is in Jesus who is the head of the body the source through the spirit of all the gifts, for he is the greatest gift. He is love in human form. He is 1 Corinthians 13 embodied. Without Jesus and his love all our gifts and words and service mean nothing. With him they mean the world, heaven on earth, eternal life. We are called to remember that love is the gift of God in Jesus by the Spirit, and having received that gift we are called to use it. How do and will you use the gift of Love?
