Focus readings: Gal 3:23-4:6, Luke 17:11-19, Luke 7:36-50

One of the radical things about Jesus was that he mixed with everyone, and encouraged his followers to do the same. Today everyone who wants to is welcome to come to the table to receive communion. You are welcome, not because you are good or spiritual but because Jesus invites you. Jesus invites everyone and welcomes all who would receive him. Not only that he would like to be your guest and share a meal in your home. Today we reflect on how he healed the lepers. How he ate as the guest of a pharisee and honoured a woman who had been forgiven much. Jesus was inclusive in his behaviour and you are called to behave the same way. You and I have chosen this as one of the key values for Karana Downs Uniting Church. What does this mean for the way you behave in church, at home and among your neighbours?
