Walking feet

Key Text Jeremiah 32:1-9

Over 2500 years ago the city of Jerusalem the capital of Judah, the southern kingdom of Israel was being besieged by the mighty Babylonian Empire. The city was holding out but pretty much everyone knew what was about to happen. The city would fall. It did fall and it was then utterly destroyed. The leading men and women were taken captive as slaves and servants back to Babylon and the poor and ordinary folk who survived the siege and destruction of the city were left to fend for themselves amid the devastation. Just before the city falls God speaks to Jeremiah and asks him to buy a field outside the city, already claimed by the Babylonians. Why? What madness is this? It was because God wanted to show Jeremiah and al the people of God, that there is a future. A time of prosperity, of buying and selling, of great harvest will come again! This message is also for you! A time of growth and harvest will come again. No dark thing, not even death has the final say! So step out in faith.
